Today was a real upper. The weather was postacard perfect (clear, sunny skies & 74 degrees) & I am putting our hike today at the top of my all time favorite hikes. This hike beat out the likes of Twin Falls Chalet hike in Yoho NP in BC, Canada & The Joint trail in Canyonlands NP in UT. What hike did we take, you ask? The Chapel Falls/Mosquito Creek loop in Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore in the UP on Michigan. The trail was wide with easy walking in shade thru a mature hardwood forest to Chapel Beach where we ate lunch & read for a while. (Always part of a good day!) From there it was easy up & down thru the forest along the Lake Superior escarpment with fabulous views of the cliffs & the lake. Hope you all had as great a day as we did!
