Video Cameras

Saturday we stopped in Sault Ste Marie to see the Soo Locks. It was raining but we got a decent parking place & we delighted to find that 2 ships would be locking thru within 15-30 minutes after our arrival. We looked around the displays for a bit and then headed out to the viewing platform to watch the 1st of the ships enter the MacArthur Lock. A spot midway on the platform was ours and we realized (too late) that the dad of the family in front of us was one of those video camera nuts that doesn't see anything live because they are too busy videoing. He also narrated his video, asked his son Andrew many questions and pointed out other “fascinating” things to him. There were 3 other kids but most of his non-video attention was directed at Andrew. I could imagine the older daughter, who looked aobut 13, rolling her eyes often.

When we took the amazing boat cruise boat cruise at Pictured Rocks the other night, there was an older man that videoed the entire 3 hour trip as far as I could tell. There was an 8 or 9 year old girl with him that ran around the whole time and seemed bored. If she was bored on the actual boat ride wouldn;t the video be even worse?

Do these people edit their footage down when they get home? For their friends and family's sake, I hope so!
